The Pride of Taiwan Returns to the International Stage, Demonstrating the Pinnacle of Craftsmanship

Representing both Taiwan and UCC, barista Shao-Sing Lin (Bala) stood out at the 2026 World Latte Art Championship (WLAC) held in San Diego, USA. By winning the world title, he has once again brought Taiwan to the forefront of the international coffee stage, achieving a brilliant victory.

The World Latte Art Championship is one of the most prestigious competitions in the global coffee industry, bringing together top baristas from around the world. This year’s event featured 33 competitors in the preliminary round, with only 6 advancing to the finals. In a high-intensity, high-standard competitive environment, participants must complete free-pour and creative latte art designs within a limited time, providing a comprehensive test of technique, stability, and artistic expression.

In the finals, Shao-Sing Lin amazed the audience with his highly creative and technically masterful works. Featuring motifs such as a raccoon, a giraffe, and a red panda, he combined delicate latte art skills with a cohesive narrative performance to successfully impress the judges and secure this year’s championship.
